Major Information

  • The total number of free electives required depends on the number of hours completed in STA 150 Foundations of Statistics or STA 150B Foundations of Stats-Expanded and ENG 101 Beginning Composition or ENG 101P Beginning Composition Plus and the number of hours that can be double-counted toward multiple degree requirements.
  • MGT electives can be any 300 or 400 level MGT courses not already required (except MGT 490 Internship). MGT 445 may not count as both a MGT elective and the International Business elective.
  • The Health Care Practicum is completed during the summer of the senior year.
  • MGT 455 Hlth Care Policy Seminar is the capstone course for all Health Care Management majors. It can only be taken during the senior year after all prerequisites are met.
  • Multicultural or International additional university requirement met with International Business Elective.
  • Please check with advisor about course offerings. Not all classes will be offered every semester.

Four Year Plan

The Department of Management and Health Care Administration offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Health Care Management. Graduates with the degree are prepared to provide health care organizations with the necessary skills to manage the complexities of delivering health care in the dynamic health care environment. In the program, you will learn financial and organizational skills, how to prepare budgets, and how to make effective decisions. Health care managers have a wide range of career options through which to apply their knowledge and provide needed services to the community.
