Provides an overview ofU.S. Army Ranger history, organization, and mission. small unit tactics, leadership, patrolling techniques, marksmanship, rappelling, and land navigation.
A physical training program consisting of Army conditioning drills, guerrilla exercises, and grass drills.
Pre-req: MS 301.
Review the evolution of warfare, military theory and the military profession, with particular emphasis on the place of military institutions in society, as to develop a sense of historical awareness.
Students develop, practice and refine leadership skills by serving and being evaluated in a variety of leadership positions. Students are responsible for the planning, coordination, execution and evaluation of training.
Analyze tasks; prepare written/oral guidance delegate, and supervise. Plan for and adapt to the unexpected under stress. Examine and apply lessons from leadership case studies.
Pre-req: MS 301 with a minimum grade of D and MS 301L with a minimum grade of D.
