Major Information
- Students are required to know and track their degree requirements for graduation or for entrance to a professional school.
- Course offerings and course attributes are subject to change each semester. Please consult each semester’s schedule of courses for availability and attributes.
- The respiratory care program prepares students for the advanced level of practice to function as a licensed respiratory therapist.
- Students receive Marshall University credit for all courses in the program. Graduates of the cooperative program receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Respiratory Care from Marshall University.
- The St. Mary’s/Marshall University Cooperative Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care program is accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
Semester Plan
The Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care Program is a cooperative effort between the Marshall University College of Health Professions and St. Mary’s School of Nursing and Health Professions. This program may be completed in four academic years and requires 121 credit hours. General education courses are offered on the Marshall University Huntington campus and respiratory courses are offered at St. Mary’s Medical Center School of Respiratory Care. Graduates of this program receive a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care degree from Marshall University and are eligible to make application to the National Board of Respiratory Care for the advanced respiratory care practitioner credentialing examination.
