The Regents Bachelor of Arts program is a general studies degree which by state statute does not allow students to declare a major. Instead the RBA degree allows students to declare an area of emphasis to show a focus within their degree. Areas of emphasis include a minimum of 15 hours of 3-400 level courses and all courses in an area of emphasis must be completed with a grade of 'C' or better. Any substitutions for an area of emphasis' requirements must be approved by the chair of the respective department.

The RBA area of emphasis in History requires completion of the courses below. All courses counted as part of an area of emphasis will need to be completed with a grade of C or better.

The RBA area of emphasis in History requires the completion of two introductory courses (students may choose between HST 101, 102, 103, 230 or 231) and 15 hours of 3-400 level courses designated as history.  These cannot include HST 300 or HST 400.

All courses counted as part of an area of emphasis will need to be completed with a grade of C or better.
